Battles the darkness, which reaches it's hand to you

As it mutters,

‘Something bad happened here,

Beware, beware’.

There’s a feeling that hangs in the air -

Of muffled danger.

It calls to you,

It grins,

It declares:

‘Something bad happened here

Beware, beware’.

Shadows grow and twist

As your footsteps echo

Through suffocating silence.

A battle between dimmed colour still rages;

Amber light is cast upon both grey brick and red tile roof.

Nothing here ever changes, it simply ages

Until it crumbles to dust.

You make it out,

But before the final step into light,

You hear:

'Something bad happened here,

Beware, beware'

'Beware' mutters a voice as it's hand closes over your shoulder.

'Beware' wails the alleyway

As crimson stains brick

And the world falls back to silence.
