Confessing to someone

Sorry for not posting more school's been keeping me busy.

Anyway, I have a friend who would like to confess to the person they are interested in and we were discussing it. One thing that came up was confessing online. We live in an age where it's much easier to talk online rather than sorting out a date and whatnot and meeting in person. So it does make sense that confessing online is now an option though I feel like it's less scincre. But then it's kind of like a love letter but more direct.

I think it's better to do this stuff in person. But my friend thinks it's better just to text.

So what are your opinions on confessing to someone your interested in
