故事架構為兩個世界。鏡裡世界是逆生長，所以少兒的外型是老人，老人的外型是嬰兒。主角逃家被鏡內世界抓交替，鏡內人在鏡外繼續長大，鏡外人卻得在鏡內退回嬰兒而死亡。鏡內有一幫鏡外人互相幫忙，調整回穿得過鏡子的體質。

平時要閃躲鏡內人，以免被抓去消除記憶。大家以外宿的生活彼此打氣，也有放棄回去，在眾人陪伴迎接死亡的伙伴。主角在別人的故事說了一口好生活，也誠實面對自己的逃避。得知鏡內人如何用鏡內歲月經驗打贏了鏡外困境，並與施暴合謀要對主角母親謀財害命。主角拼命衝出鏡像想救媽媽，即便媽媽發生衝突也要斷絕隨時在旁的危險。最後，想辦法幫助被困在鏡內的絕望好友回到鏡外。
