A few days later.
"Lexis Francis and Stanton Charles. Please report to the principal's office."
"Why was her name called before mine?" Stanton asked the teacher.
"I don't know Stanton, you'll find out when you get to the principal's office." Mr. Duncan answered turning around to look him.
"Lexis you heard the announcement." He said glancing at her.
"I'm gone." She answered getting up from her desk and packing books into her bag.
The other students in the class were whispering and offering warnings to Stanton. Some threw jokes at Stanton, others threw insults at Lexis.
"Careful Stanton, she might jump you."
"Yeah who know's what lies she might try to spread, when you're alone with her." Maria glared at Lexis.
"I won't warn you Lexis." Katie said as she glanced at Stanton.
"Frack off". Lexis answered.
The class went into uproar, some students got out of their seats shouting at Lexis, a few boys walked up to her and one grabbed her by the collar.
"Bring it fat ass." She said to the boy pulling her up.
"Give her!" A few other students shouted.
"SILENCE!" Mr. Duncan shouted. "I don't give a shit, about what you think of Lexis, but you will NOT disturb my class further. Drop her."
The boy holding Lexis looked back at Mr. Duncan with angry eyes and bared teeth.
"You serious sir?" The boy asked through clenched teeth.
"I said drop her Michael." Mr. Duncan said firmly.
"Bullshit!" Michael shouted as he turned back to Lexis.
She stared at him hard without blinking. Michael cuffed his free hand tighter.
"Bring it" she mouthed.
Michael raised his arm readying to punch her face in as hard as he could. The only thoughts in his mind was how painfully he was going to make her bloody.
"Don't frack with me Michael!" Mr. Duncan shouted across the room.
"Bring it!" Lexis shouted.
Michael lost what little reasoning he had and drove his fist for Lexis' face. His fist connected with her jaw and her foot with his groin. She wasn't going to give him the luxury of getting away with with just that, his fracking punch hurt like hell.
As Michael let her go and bent forward, her knee struck him in the chin sending him upright and lessening a tooth. She then stomped his foot as hard as she could. Michael opened his mouth to scream, blood pouring down his chin.
Lexis shoved Michael, onto the other guys behind him and they all fell over. The class was quiet, the others just watched on with their mouths open.
"Get out!" Mr. Duncan shouted as he pointed to the door.
"Gone." Lexis said picking up her pack and walking out the door.
Lexis left the classroom and headed for the benches instead of the principal's office, she need to cool down.
She found a shaded row and lay on the bench looking at the clouds. She raised her hand to touch her jaw and was greeted by more pain and a headache.
"Frack! Ahhh" Lexis screamed as she sat up trying to hold her jaw, but also trying not to touch it.
Not only was jaw hurting but opening her mouth hurt just as bad. The headache she was now getting, was on the side Michael had punched her, it made her eye to close down.
"Shit" she said through closed jaws. "Well at least I can talk...somewhat."
--
"Principal Scatim, Stanton is here." The secretary's voice came through the door followed by Stanton.
Stanton walked in and opened his mouth to protest, but stopped when he saw the Malieni's sitting on the couch. Mrs. Malieni put her teacup down and smiled at him, Stanton blushed.
"Wow." He said staring at her his mouth agape with an awkward grin.
"Where's Lexis?" Mr. Scatim asked as he shook the boy's shoulder, as he peered behind him.
Stanton's face wrung in disgust and anger as he looked at the principal.
"How should I know?" he answered.
Mr.Scatim looked nervously at the Malieni's before directing Stanton to the couple.
"Uh...Mr. and Mrs. Malieni, this is Stanton Charles. Stanton, Mr. and Mrs. Malieni." Mr. Scatim introduced them, stressing on the madam's title, as he looked at the boy.
"They own A-tech Boarding College."
Stanton looked at the principal wide-eyed then back to the Malienis, without any hesitation seated himself opposite Mrs. Malieni.
"What can I do for you?" The boy asked as he looked Mrs. Malieni over.
Mrs. Malieni just flashed Stanton another smile.
They waited 10 minutes before Lexis walked in, her left cheek swollen and a cut on the edge on her mouth. Lexis looked over the four people in the room and moved to the empty seat opposite Mr. Malieni.
"I'm terribly sorry principal Scatim." The secretary said from the door looking at Lexis.
"It's alright." He smiled at the woman. "And this...is Lexis."
"Fight?" Mrs. Malieni asked looking at Lexis with a smile.
Since she sat down, Lexis never took her eyes of the man in front of her. What the hell are you looking at.
"He's a lot worse off." She answered through slightly parted lips.
Mr. Malieni kept his eyes on Lexis, he watched her over several times and she did the same to him. Interesting young lady. Mr. Malieni cracked a light smile, almost as if he was telling Lexis he wasn't picking a fight and she eased up a bit.
"Right, now that you're both here we can get straight on to business." Mrs. Malieni said. "The both of you have been accepted for the scholarship. The entrance exam is tomorrow morning. A car will pick you up here, at school and bring you back, once you've completed the exam."
"Wait. The exam's tomorrow? We don't get any fore-notice?" Stanton asked panicked.
"I don't see the need." Mrs. Malieni answered as she sipped her tea.
"If I fail one of the exam papers?" Lexis asked.
"Your scholarship will be revoked." She said setting the cup down.
"But..." Stanton started but couldn't continue, Mrs. Malieni pinned him with a stare that brokered no argument.
"Never mind." He whispered and sunk into the chair.
"Your first exam starts at 7:45, its an hour drive so you need to be here by 6:30. Any questions?"
"Can I go now?" Lexis asked through clenched teeth.
"Of course." Mrs. Malieni answered.
Lexis got up to leave but as she got to the door, principal Scatim stopped her.
"Just a minute Lexis, I need to talk to you about your fight." He said standing up.
Lexis just looked at him and walked out the door.
"Problem with authority." Mrs. Malieni whispered.
"I don't think you'd want a student like her at your institution." Principal Scatim suggested.
"Still our decision, Mr. Scatim. Good day."
With that the Malienis left the principal's office, the school and headed home. During the ride home Mrs. Malieni caught her husband smiling to himself.
"That's twice in one day." She said looking at him.
"What is?" Her husband asked.
"Twice I've seen you smile like that. What's on your mind?"
"Lexis." Her husband answered. Mrs. Malieni raised a brow.
"I was just thinking how ready she is for everyone, like I was. I was wondering, if our daughter would have been like that too."
"You were feral, I'd never have let Amelia turn out like that."83Please respect copyright.PENANAw9KZ7fPO0b
