“We are gonna calculate how many days or hours it will take to get to Hawaii.” Tori closed her eyes and began to think for a moment. Then she opened them and said, “It should take us five days if we don’t stop.”
Slithers and I nodded at her.
“But how are we gonna get across the ocean?” Slithers asked himself.
“Well, you should not be such an idiot, we can call Piss-baby aka Poseidon, and he will give us hippocampi!!!” Tori rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.
“I think he would prefer not to be called that,” I murmured.
Tori didn’t hear and yelled out into the wind, “YO!!! PISS-BABY!!! CAN YOU GIVE US SOME HIPPOCAMPI?!”
I wanted to die right there on the spot. Why? Because Tori was nicknaming a god “Piss-baby”.
The Earth began to shake ferociously, cracks seeping into the earthy. The cracks began to widen. Rain clouds covered the sky and it began to rain hard.
“TORI! What did you do?!” Slithers and I screamed in unison.
“What did I do?! Well I-I-I-I…” She stammered.
“TORI!” I yelled.
Suddenly she snapped and spoke fast in panic, “Well Poseidon owes me a deal from a bet he lost so I got to call him Piss-baby forever plus I get to borrow his hippocampi anytime.”
Slithers and I looked at her in confusion.
“Why are you looking at me like I am crazy?!” Tori asked.
“Cuz you are.” Slithers immediately responded.
Tori rolled her eyes, “No, I’m not!”
When I looked down the cracks, I saw that the cracks were filled with water!
“Guess I should get some water,” I murmured to myself and took my water bottle out of my backpack and I scooped some water from the river that came from the cracks.
When I sipped the water I immediately spat it out. “GROSS!!!”
“What is it?!” Tori asked.
“The water from the cracks tastes disgusting!” I spat.
“That’s because it is seawater, you idiot!!!” Tori laughed.
“Haha, very funny.” I rolled my eyes and dumped the salty water on the ground.
Suddenly there was a neighing sound!
Slithers, Tori, and I turned around and saw three horses swimming in the cracks.
“JUST LIKE I SAID!!!” Tori dove into the water and climbed onto the back of one of the horses. “Get on!”
I heaved a big sigh, “Let’s get a move on,”
I dove into the water and heaved myself onto one of the half-fish horses, Slithers dove into the water and heaved himself on one of the other horses.
“These horses are rather slippery,” Slithers murmured to himself.
Tori must have heard and stuck her tongue out at Slithers.
Slithers gritted his teeth at Tori angrily.
“Guys, what the Hades are you fighting about?!” I yelled, “Why do you guys fight all the time?!”
Slithers crossed his arms, “Well, your annoying friend annoys the underworld right out of me!”
“Well excuse me but when you snore it annoys the *beeeeep* out of ME!” Tori gritted her teeth in anger.
“Tori, how much did you swear?” I asked.
“Well, I am cursed by the gods not to swear,” Tori growled. “For example, son of a *beeeeep*.”
“You swore that much?!” I stared at her incredulously.
“Yep.” Tori put her hands on her hips proudly and her chin up high.
“You’re such a show-off like my older brother!” Slithers groaned and rolled his eyes.
Tori gritted her teeth, her eyes full of hatred and disgust, “Well at least you are better than your nasty sister, who, by the way, ABANDON US!!!”
Slithers flinched a bit, Tori clearly must have touched a bad subject to talk about.
“My sister hasn’t abandoned us!” Slithers protested, tears flooded his eyes a bit.
“Tori!” I scolded, my eyes flashing angrily at her.
“What?” Tori said calmly, her brown eyes making shivers of regret roll down my spine. “I never had a real family anyway, how would I understand?”
“Tori, what are you talking about?” I asked.
Tori flashed her eyes to the ground, she murmured something.
“What did you say?” I asked.
“I said that my siblings never cared about me, my father and mother are always busy and they barely talk to me.” Tori frowned.
“I’m sorry…” I spoke with sorrow and sympathy.
“It’s okay, it wasn’t your fault, you didn’t know about it.” Tori sighed sadly.
There was a long moment of silence as we traveled on the sea fish horses.
It was nighttime when I finally broke the silent truce, “So… should we camp now?”
“Later,” Slithers spoke but I couldn’t see his expression through the night darkness. “You could sleep and I could-”
I shook my head, “No, I am a messenger and I cannot sleep, it is against Olympus law.”
I could only see a glimpse of Slithers expression and it was frowning.
“Well, since” Tori let out a short yawn. “Since you both are staying up, I shall be the one to sleep.”
I rolled my eyes and let out a sarcastic laugh. “Very funny.”
Tori only answered back with a snore.
“Guess she was tuckered out.” Slithers jokes. “It is the same for my hippocampi.”
“Hey, how about you get on my hippocampi?” I suggested.
“Sure, but when we get a good spot to camp at,” Slithers responded.
I looked along the water, the moonlight only giving me glimpses of the grassy fields.
“Over there!” Slithers called out.
I looked over to where he was excited but I couldn’t see anything.
“I can’t see it!” I frustratingly sighed.
“But I and the hippocampus can see!” Slithers seemed to stand up on his hippocampus and pointed to an area I couldn’t see.
The hippocampi followed where he was pointing and after a little while, they stopped.
“We’re here!” Slithers said. “Go wake Tori.”
I nodded and screamed, “TORI!!! WAKE THE HADES UP!”
Tori woke up in startlement, “What’s going on?!”
“Tori, we found a spot to camp at,” I said.
“Oh yeah, okay,” She yawned as she got off her hippocampus and hit the grass.
I followed behind her and stood there in the grass.
Slithers stood next to me.
I could see glimpses of a clearing.
“Bye Hippocampi!” Tori waved as they dove into the river.
“Why did they leave?!” I asked.
“That is how far they can go.” Tori explained then rolled her eyes, “Poseidon thinks he needs them more than us, he is not in any war.”
Slithers rolled his eyes back, “Isn’t it obvious? He needs them to send messages around the ocean.”
“Well, doesn’t he have an unlimited amount?!” She asked, “And how do you know so much about this god stuff?!”
“First of all,” Slithers folded his arms, “he only has four Hippocampi because the rest of the hippocampi died in the last war!” He started to head over to the clearing. “Second of all,” He started to set up tents, “My mother taught me so much, she said you must learn anything and everything about the gods and goddesses, plus titans. She says you gotta learn about your enemies to be their enemies.”
I heaved a sigh and helped him with building the tents.
“I Hate my mother.” He spat angrily.
“Hey, it will get better.” I tried to comfort him.
Slithers looked at me, his expression was like he wanted to believe me but he couldn’t.
“Slithers,” I said to him, “I-I-I…” I stammered.
“What?” Slithers asked, looking a little confused.
My cheeks flushed in embarrassment.
I looked over to Tori and saw that she was eating popcorn.
“Wait, Tori, where did you get that popcorn from?!” I asked, grateful I could change the subject.
Slithers looked at me, confused but also a bit sad.
“Well,” Tori stuffed a bit more popcorn in her mouth, “Isn't it obvious?! She likes-” All the rest of the words came into muffles of food being chomped down.
“Slithers… I-” I looked at Tori.
Tori nodded and left.
UGH! That is not what I wanted, I wanted Tori to help coach me to talk to Slithers about my feelings for him.
“Slithers um…” I trailed off as Slithers walked over to me and sat down next to me.
“What?” His eyes gleamed when Moonlight danced on them.
“I….” I trailed off again, suddenly all the words I wanted to say just spilling into my mind.
I stared at Slithers hard, I still didn’t say anything but thought a lot of things.
Slithers nodded his head slowly. Suddenly, he pulled me in and hugged me tightly.
I blushed furiously, not expecting this.
“Did you know I could read minds?” He whispered in my ear and he pulled me tighter.
He pulled me back a bit, just a few inches apart. Then he pulled me in…. suddenly, thunder raged in the sky and we stopped.
“Guys,” Tori was right behind us, “Zeus says kissing is a big no-no.”
Tori giggled, “But I am no woman of Zeus’s laws, GO KISS!”
A thunder raged on, “Okay, okay, fine…” Tori groaned, “Zeus now says kissing is a really big no-no and that Benny agrees, so guys, GET TO BED!”
I sighed but when Tori wasn’t looking for a moment and kissed Slithers on the cheek.
Slithers blushed furiously after that.
“Time to go to sleep.” Tori yawned and quickly got into her tent.
I nodded and went into mine.
I lay there in my sleeping bag, thinking about how many days had gone by ever since I became an Olympus Messenger, when finally, after a while, sleep pulled me into the night.

We awoke in the morning, the air was the smell of crisp morning air but had something else in it, waffles and pancakes!
I scooted out of my sleeping bag and I went out of my tent.
I drank in the scenery around me, grass edged around the clearing, the clearing flat as a pancake, and in the middle of the clearing was Slithers cooking pancakes and waffles.
“Hey K!!!” Slithers called towards me.
I smiled and walked toward him, “Hey Slithers, how are you?!”
“HEY K!!!! WHAT DO YOU SEE IN SLITHERS, HE IS A *beeeeeeep* SON OF A *beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep*” Cried a familiar voice.
“TORI!!!” I turned around and saw her mischievous-looking face, “What the Hades is wrong with you?!”
“You swore for, I don’t know, FIVE MINUTES, STRAIGHT!!!” Slithers added while he waved his arms and hands for dramatic effect.
“Why?” Tori smiled, a little mischievous glint in her eyes. “I like teasing and havoc, plus you know that!”
I rolled my eyes at her, I was completely disgusted by the way she was acting.
“Well, I think we should pack up these waffles and pancakes, then get on the road!!!” Slithers folded his arms and tapped hastily on his foot.
“Well,” Tori began to protest, “I think we should eat then get on the road.”
“Well, I think we should immediately get on the road, and on the way, we can eat, it will make the trip faster.” Slithers protested back.
“K, what do you think?!” Slithers and Tori asked.
I stared at them, they were asking me?! For advice?! That’s a first, especially with Tori, I’m usually the one asking her for advice.
“Uh-uh-uh-uhhhhhh….” I stammered out, honestly, I was more confused than disappointed in the way they were fighting and acting.
“I think we should leave right away, it will get us to the tree faster,” I explained.
“But I want my waffles and pancakes!!!” Tori turned her voice into a mouse one.
“Hey!!! Pipsqueak!!!” Called out a weird voice.
We turned around and saw a girl wearing a cloak, baggy ripped jeans, black sneakers with bees printed on them, and a dirty yellow sweater with black stripes on it. She had tannish skin, her long bangs covered most of the half of her face so we couldn’t see her eyes. Her hair was brown, along with some white streaks in it. She also seemed like she wouldn’t be something in the next second, but at the moment she was tall and had horns like a goat’s. “Who are you?!” Slithers asked, armed with a frying pan.
“My name is John Sherlock William Fryed Fried Eggs Addams, daughter of Loki, and please, call me Sherlock.” The girl said, holding up a trident that seemed to be on fire., “NOW PUT YOUR HANDS UP OR I WILL FORK YA GUYS!!!”
Slithers immediately dropped his pan. My knightpan my knight in shining armor didn’t have the energy or bravery to protect me. I kept my hands down while Tori brought her knife out.
“Sherlock,” I began in a calming voice, “we do not know you but we know we had nothing to do with you or anything.”
“Yeah, I know,” Sherlock responded. “Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, Zeus sent me, apparently he wanted me to keep an eye on that boy,” she pointed at Slithers, “and you.” She swerved around and pointed at me.
Tori cracked up laughing, “I know what they gonna do, they gonna *beeep* kiss each other and do the *beeep* possible.”
“Excuse me but what’s up with her?!” Sherlock asked.
“What’s up with her is that she swore so much that Olympus put a curse on her, so now every time she swears, her swears turn into beeps.” Slithers rolled his eyes at Tori, who was cursing more than ever now and showing him a rude gesture.
“So Sherlock, you gonna follow us?!” I asked.
“Yeah, of course, I am.” Sherlock smiled.
I nodded.
“So, we're gonna let this random person who threatened us with a fork come on this journey?!” Slithers folded his arms, “That’s fine, that’s fine.”
I recognized the tone of his voice. He didn’t like Sherlock coming on the journey, so I did what I had to do. I kissed him on the cheek and told him he could get more if he behaved, maybe on the lips.
Well, it worked, maybe a little too well.
Every time I needed to do something, he would do it for me, and he pretended to be nice to Sherlock, though, with Tori, he kept wacking her. On the journey, there was only grass, nothing else in sight. We were walking on the way and I was talking to Sherlock.
“So Sherlock, “ I asked, “why did your mom name you, John?!”
“Because she’s Loki,” Sherlock explained. “She had left my dad heavy on kool-aid, thinking I was a different person.”
“Your mom and dad have some issues,” I said.
Sherlock was silent for a long moment.
“OH! I didn’t mean to offend you!” I began to apologize.
“No, it wasn’t your fault, they do have some issues, plus I was in my ADHD mode, just thinking of ways to prank and do arson.” Sherlock smiled.
“Arson?!” I asked, tilting my head. “Are you a criminal or something?!”
“Oh no!!! I am the goddess of bees, arson, and similar things that don’t make sense, I was born to do these things.” Sherlock explained. “I use wildfires and lighting to set properties on fire who rightfully deserve it, or when I am just bored.”
I looked at her, something must be wrong with her, but who am I kidding?! Something is wrong with all of us.
It was starting to get dark and we didn’t eat anything at all today.
“Hey guys, we gotta set up camp somewhere!” I called out to my friends. Their figures were dark in the shadows of the night but I could see them nodding at least.
“Slithers, why don’t you take the lead?!” I asked him.
His head bobbed up and down, like those einstein bobbleheads you might see at a store, and he walked and stood in front of us.
