I kept to the trees as I stumbled and crashed through the growth with only fear powering me on.
I could hear people everywhere. Ones screaming from the horrors they had witnessed while others cried to return to what was safe and secure. My fearful cries were tangled with theirs. The scent of blood was everywhere, stinging my nostrils and sticking to the back of my dripping mouth.
The electricity running through my body at the taste of it refused to let me ignore it. There was no way I was going to stop and give in to the side of me I was trying to supress. I didn't even want to know what I would do if I let it take control and guide me back towards the madness.

The morning light was streaming over the land when I finally dragged myself to a stop at the edge of the treeline and slumped against it in relief.
My legs should have been screaming for rest from the endless running but were fine. My splattered and shaking arms however felt like the bones had been yanked from them as weakness filled them and refused to hold any weight.
I flopped them over the wired vest I had been forced into as I scanned the land that had been unveiled through the sunlight.
The grass stained red with the insides of the fallen. Small children were amongst those dragged down and brutally murdered, trying to crawl free before being torn apart.
Two teens wearing identical vests came crashing through the scenery mere metres from my location. The eldest of the children wildly fired the gun it gripped while they all scattered blindly. The trees beside me absorbed most of the missed bullets while my body desperately tried to hammer adrenaline through it to try and move it from the danger.
As the others scrambled onwards, the vested teen snatching up and dragging a straggler towards it before pinning the escapee to its chest and yanking the wires free.
An onslaught of chunked innards and brain matter sprayed across my body that was thrown across the ground until I slammed into another tree. Sizzling blood coated every space on and around me. I didn't even know what had happened until I pulled myself from the bloody mud beneath me and saw the mass of mutilated innards and fragmented bones on the spot where the vested teen had been.
They had exploded! This vest…. it was a bomb! IT WAS A BOMB!
Panic jolted through me as realisation hit me. The scream that forced its way from my throat didn't even sound like it belonged to me.
Each of the escaping children had been decimated from the blast as well, all of their tangled insides sprayed across the ground in steaming masses.
I wasn't even thinking when I bolted from the cover of the trees to scramble out into the open with the other vested teen.
I sprinted past in blind panic from the tears and innards coating my face, trying to desperately outrun the fate that was awaiting me.
The soaked ground caught under my feet and sent me tumbling and sliding on the insides of another victim sprayed across it.
Without thinking, I pulled my shaking body back upwards, only to hit the ground again when the dirt sprayed upwards in front of me from screaming bullets.
I didn't dare to move while the gunshots rang out in the air. With so many peppering the area, it was hard to tell if any were actually being aimed at me.
I couldn't divert to the trees now. It was just me and this nightmare now.
One stray bullet and it would all be over.
The exploding bodies of the vested kids and teens could be seen from apon and over the hills beside me. The fallen bodies of those escaping were slumped along the muddy earth around me.
All I could hear and smell was death. Blood was everywhere. My own body was trying to decieve me into hunting it down and devouring it. It was trying to kill me as much as my mind wanted to. 161Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡOEE4rxXkgy
I kept my eyes glued ahead as I sprinted for the freedom slowly dancing closer and making hope in my frightened heart resurface.
Maybe I will be able to get through this after all!
