I can think of the one of the most disgusting places I've been.
Easy.
It was a beach of bones.
The Salton Sea fills with fish every year, when I say filled, I mean they are all touching. Side by side. And the the water level lowers, and they all get dropped off on the beach. They dry up, and leave just bones and dry scales.
My sister took off her shoes to run down the "sandy beach." Not sand. Bones. They crunch at every step. And the skeletons are lined up, just like the live fish. Everywhere.
And if you want to know how weird I am, I picked up five bones, skinny teeth like bones. I still have them, a year later, I think they'll make a great necklace.
