"A scarf. Do you like it?"

"Uh...no. You look like a traffic cone, Ava."

"What? How do I look like a traffic cone?"

"Because your scarf is neon orange."

"Actually, it's called 'pumpkin spice'."

"Ha, yeah. Nothing says 'spice' like a habenero orange scarf on a Tuesday."

"What, so now I'm a pepper?"

"Yep."

"I have a green one, too."

"Of course you do! What, is that one 'lime popsicle' since they're named after foods?"

"It's actually 'mint ice cream'."

"Oh my god."

"What?"

"Ava, how many of these things do you have?"

"..."

"How many-"

"Fourteen."

"...Fou-fourteen? What is wrong with you, Ava? Why on earth would you need that many neon scarves?"

"I don't know, okay? I just really like how bright they are!"

"Tsk, yeah. 'Bright' is one way to say it."

"But it shouldn't matter what I wear, Emily, no matter how crazy it is. I'm expressing myself in a way that you never notice. You're my best friend, Emily. I don't want us fighting over what I wear."

"But you're not wearing that 'construction neon green' one tomorrow."
