** This was my submission to the Horrible Horror Contest. The prompt was to write any kind of story in any kind of format that fit the theme of "horror". I decided to use my place of work in security as inspiration. I wrote this in the style of the activity reports I am required to write throughout my shift. This won second place in the contest. **208Please respect copyright.PENANAerLpnIZMXg
** Here's some spooky ambient music to listen to while reading if you want to add some extra mood:

ACTIVITY LOG 03:
- One of the machines near pole location N3 in Machining has an alarm going off. Appears to be leaking fluid of some kind. A fairly large puddle has formed around its base. Will need to notify Maintenance when they arrive in the morning. Labeling this as a Slip Hazard. Will attach photos and video of the leak.

3 PHOTO ATTACHMENT(S):
- The first photo attachment shows a support pole with a sign reading “N3” on it.
- The second photo attachment shows a large, blue contraption for machining parts. What appears to be a stream of dark fluid can be seen running down the front of it.

1 VIDEO ATTACHMENT(S):
- Video attachment shows Officer Sullivan panning the camera around the machine in question. The dark fluid can be seen running down the machine’s front in a steady stream to the floor, causing a sizable puddle. Officer Sullivan continues to pan the camera around the machine revealing no other leaks. Video length is twelve seconds.

ACTIVITY LOG 04:
- Building and Grounds Tour complete. No further issues were found. All secure.
- I did want to note that I did not see any of the employees while performing my rounds. Not sure where they were gathered, but footage from security cams shows their vehicles still parked in the Main Front Parking Lot. This isn’t anything abnormal. The facility is massive, so it’s possible I just missed them. Nothing to be concerned about, I’m sure, but just thought it worth noting.
- I have returned the radio, keys, phone, and flashlight to their rightful places.
- Resuming Guard Shack Duties.
- Will perform another set of rounds within an hour.

Officer: Robert Sullivan
208Please respect copyright.PENANAPCxozvhINV
ACTIVITY LOG 06:
- Several rooms have shown lighting issues that were not present on the first patrol. The Front Lobby, Cafeteria, Offices, and now the entirety of the Paint Line in the Warehouse have light fixtures that are either flickering or blown out completely. The Paint Line is the worst as the entire line is completely blacked out. I have to use my flashlight to be able to find my way around. Unsure of the cause, or why only certain rooms are experiencing issues. I contacted Site Supervisor Davis. He told me to just log the event and list the locations affected, and to also inform Maintenance in the morning. I will attach the videos I have recorded of the rooms in question.
208Please respect copyright.PENANALJdrHW0Xbj
4 VIDEO ATTACHMENT(S):
- First video shows inside the Front Lobby where there are several cushioned seats and an enclosed Security Check-In Office. Officer Sullivan has the camera stationary. The footage reveals the ceiling lights inside flickering at inconsistent intervals. The lights inside the Security Check-In Office are flickering also. Video length is six seconds.
- Second video shows the inside of the Cafeteria where we can see multiple tables and chairs as well as a section in the back where five refrigerated units storing food and drinks can be seen. Officer Sullivan pans the camera left and right. Most of the ceiling lights are flickering, although not all of them. Video length is nine seconds.
- Third video shows the Office Room filled with cubicles that contain computer office equipment. Officer Sullivan pans the camera across the Office Room four times. We see that around half of the lights are burnt out while the rest are flickering in a similar fashion to the previous rooms. Video length is thirteen seconds.
- Fourth video shows the Paint Line which is a large, wide section that stretches for the length of the building. The Paint Line is pitch black, save for where Officer Sullivan shines his flashlight. Officer Sullivan moves the camera around the Paint Line slowly, directing the camera where he points his flashlight. From the flashlight beam, we see three large-scale, rectangular structures lined up in a row. Each of these structures has roll-up dock doors located in the front and back with railway tracks leading into and out of them for transporting completed train engines for painting, curing, and drying. We see that all lights, not just the ceiling lights, are not working. This includes lights on the machines as well as any alarm lights. Video length is twenty-eight seconds.

1 AUDIO RECORDING ATTACHMENT(S):
- (loud hums and whirs from machinery in the background) “This is Officer Sullivan recording an audio report. Date is Saturday on July ninth, twenty-twenty-two. Time is… uh… Oh-five-fifteen hundred hours. I am currently making my rounds through the Machining section of the Warehouse. I’m forced to record this log because when I tried to report through a written log, it got corrupted. Not sure what’s going on. I’ve never had this happen before. Something is definitely going on right now. The lighting problems I reported previously have seemed to… uh… spread throughout the whole building. I haven’t reached Production yet, but I have a feeling it might be just as bad. The lights are going crazy. They are flickering at an extremely fast rate, kind of like… um… a strobe light. It’s making it hard to see. I’m starting to worry that this isn’t a freak accident and that this is intentional. For what purposes, I’m not sure. Maybe sabotage? Uh… I tried calling my Site Supervisor, but the signal seems to be a little haywire in here. I know the call connected, but the call was too broken up for me to tell if I was getting through or not. I’m going to keep patrolling and see if I can figure out what’s going on. End of report."

1 VIDEO ATTACHMENT(S):
- [WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT] Video shows Officer Sullivan recording in the Production section of Warehouse. Officer Sullivan is aiming the camera toward the ceiling where several ceiling cranes - used for moving large parts between sections - can be seen. On each of the hooks of the ceiling cranes that are visible, we can see persons - that appear to be Warehouse employees - impaled and suspended in the air by the hooks. We can hear Officer Sullivan giving his report in a distressed tone, his voice projecting loudly to be heard over the sound of the working machines.
208Please respect copyright.PENANABXhbH9PT5t
- “Oh my, god… Oh my, god… This is Officer Sullivan reporting in Production area of Warehouse. Date is… oh screw it! Who cares?! All of the employees are dead! Dead! Someone or something seems to have skewered them on the ceiling cranes. I don’t know how well you can see it in the video footage, but I have identified all ten employees. What the hell is going on?! I tried to call the police, but I can’t seem to get through. I don’t know what to do. I’ve gotta get out of here… Oh my, god… I’ve gotta get out of here. I’m going to try and drive to the nearest police station. If you see this before I can reach them, do not come here!”
208Please respect copyright.PENANA76nQ66wrTJ
- We see the power go out. Video footage is completely black, and the audio goes silent. We then hear Officer Sullivan begin to speak in a hushed tone as he flicks on his flashlight.
208Please respect copyright.PENANAwe7sfGA5HM
- “What the hell? What the actual hell?”
208Please respect copyright.PENANAGZqOV7UgDf
- We hear something metallic clang on the floor in the distance. Officer Sullivan sweeps his flashlight beam toward the sound. Only large machinery and partially assembled train engines can be seen. Officer Sullivan speaks again, but much quieter.
208Please respect copyright.PENANAuk3YdElr1w
- “I think someone’s in here. Oh, god… they can probably see my flashlight. I’m getting out of here. I’m getting out of here right now.”
208Please respect copyright.PENANAavVN4JRmsS
- We hear the sound of unidentified footsteps running in the direction of Officer Sullivan. Officer Sullivan turns to the sound and begins to scream. Video footage becomes distorted as the flashlight beam shines on what appears to be some sort of massive, running figure approaching at an accelerated speed. Video becomes too distorted to make anything more out. All that can be discerned is Officer Sullivan screaming the words “no” repeatedly until the camera finally drops onto the floor and we hear the sound of gurgling. Video ends abruptly afterward. Video length is two minutes and twenty-seven seconds.

1 VIDEO ATTACHMENT(S):
- [WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT] Video starts with a stationary angle pointed up toward another ceiling crane in the Production section of the Warehouse. We see the body of Officer Sullivan speared on the ceiling crane’s hook, his blood pouring onto the floor. It is uncertain who is holding the camera. The video cuts out shortly afterward. Video length is ten seconds.
