George grit his teeth, shading his eyes. His grip on Neve was faltering as her lifeless body sunk further towards the ground. “N..Neve. Wait, just wait.” He pleaded monotonously. The sky darkened as the heavens prepared for the new soul to arrive.

The blonde girl soon went colourless. Her abdomen was at first torn, but had now healed completely. She grew fainter and her body went translucent. Neve rose towards to sky, and George threw his weight onto her. “I said wait!” He hiccuped into her chest.

A few members gathered around the duo. Most took one look and then buried their faces into others, weeping silently. Ryeece stood completely frozen. Lena had lost all expression on her face. She swayed from side to side before falling to her knees.

Then there was a scream. It was piercing, but George barely noticed it. He was so empty. So cold. Laying mid-air, the heavens desperately trying to steal Neve away from the world. Leon had appeared soon after, his hand shakily clasped that of Myra’s. “My baby…” The silver-haired women sobbed. “I...found my daughter.” She then said with a bit more confidence. Leon shuddered, releasing the soothing grip on his wife. He stood out a further. “She’ll be fine.”

People threw looks of disgust and confusion at the strange man. “She’ll be fine, you guys!” He continued. “It’s just a scratch. There isn’t anything wrong.” He protested hysterically, tears falling roughly down his face. “Neve’s a strong girl. She’s fine. Quit making such a commotion.”

Myra stared, absolutely horrified at her husband. She was scared, terrified of him. Felix pushed his way through the crowd, charging at his leader. The distraught man threw himself at the larger male. “Stop it, Leon.” He whispered, twisting his arms around Leon’s in a lock. “You’re scaring people.”

Felix narrowed his eyes at Leon, tears threatening to spill. “Breathe.”

“I need to see her! You bastard! Let me go!”

An odd sensation riled within Leon. It was a pressure. It consumed his chest, and worked its way down to his stomach. He felt his throat close in and he began to draw much more haggard breaths. It was a realisation. He had come to terms with his daughter’s death. His beautiful, baby girl was gone.

He stopped struggling and screamed into the snow-patted field.

The world was longer perfect, for the guild had lost an innocent soul.
