The day that everything changed.
06:39.
As another Sunday morning arrived, Kagerou Kobayashi hopped out of his bed, preparing his outfit, as he groggily looked in the mirror, wondering if today was going to be a regular day. As he headed to the dormitory bathrooms, taking a shower, five other people also prepared various stages of their morning routines; Mei Mizuhara, Chloe Kudo, Kanon Kawano, Ryotaro Rakuyama and Shun Sakamoto respectively.
A few minutes later, Kagerou finished his morning routine, donning his trademark black hoodie above his red undershirt, before making final preparations to head out. Grabbing his small sling bag, he tucked a few of his most important belongings underneath, as he then headed out in the process, turning off the light and locking the door behind him in the process. Heading in the direction of his academy's cafeteria for breakfast, he decided to get it over with as quickly as possible.
And he exited the cafeteria a few minutes later, as he pulled out the phone, browsing through the Kamen Rider Fan Fiction Wiki in the process. Looking at his phone, noting the time to be about roughly half past seven in the morning, he continued browsing through the wiki, walking in the direction of the academy's main entrance. And a few minutes of idle waiting later, he was suddenly interrupted by a pair of hands covering his eyes, much to his own disdain.
Rolling his eyes, Kagerou called out to the culprit, Mei, as she pulled off her hands, pouting in the process. The former of the two wondering how she was able to arrive so early, the latter continued to prod Kagerou over the new keychains he'd gotten for his phone, particularly of Fourze and Decade.
After a few minutes of waiting, the rest of the group (Chloe, Kanon, Shun and Ryotaro) also arrived, the former two of the four continuing to act like a lovey-dovey couple. As Kagerou snarkily asked Ryotaro as to how long the two had been doing this, the latter stating that they've been like that for the whole breakfast session, jokingly making a disgusted face.
And as the bus arrived, the group would hop onto the vehicle, as would a bunch of other people heading into the city.
12:45.
Two hours after they arrived in the city, Kagerou and Shun continued to lead the group around the city, much to the chagrin of the rest of the group, who struggled to keep pace, Chloe and Kanon in particular. As the group made jokes about their current physical state, they decided to look for a mall where they could temporarily take a break and rest, while waiting for their legs to heal.
And finding a mall where they could do exactly that, they found the mall's food court, taking a five-minute break. Kagerou opened his phone, watching a recording of the newest episode of Revice, as the rest of the group also idled on their phones, viewing whatever they deemed important at the time. And five minutes later, the group decided to continue walking, figuring that exploring the mall could be a good idea.
A unanimous agreement was immediately decided upon, as the group would walk around the mall, heading into the occasional shop of interest. Most of them were toy stores, though there were some clothes stores in the process. However, suddenly, the power to the mall would cut off, leaving everyone in the darkness, much to the group's shock.
Kagerou immediately heard the sounds of doors slamming coming from the rough direction of the mall's entrance, as the group immediately rushed in the direction of the sounds, being greeted by the sight of the front gates completely locked and sealed, multiple of the other civilians that were trapped with them banging on the metal grates to be let free. Immediately, both Kagerou and Mei jumped into action again, searching for any potential fire exits...
In another part of the mall, the shadows that had formed on the walls would begin to suddenly turn into black goop, as it oozed onto the floor, beginning to take form. And from the goop, three figures would then emerge, each of them smiling in the process.
As Commander Zanzou, the leader of the group, would simply chuckle, he would step out of the shadows, seeing the entire mall plunged into chaos, from the people trying to search for an exit. Looking at his hands with interest, he would then wonder what this world had to offer, before pulling out what appeared to be a blank card of some kind.
Proceeding to pull out a weird device of some kind, Commander Zanzou scanned the card over it, almost like a debit card at a cashier at the supermarket, before it began to emit a dim black light, the leader of the mysterious group closing his eyes briefly.
And as he opened his eyes again, a grin beginning to plaster on his face, the card in his hand stopped emitting its dim glow, a black and yellow ooze now coating the card. The details of the card were also something else entirely... on it, runes were carved, and Japanese and Latin writing were clearly scribbled over each other...

Commander Zanzou then followed with his next phase of the plan, inserting the card into the scanner he'd used to activate it, before it began to dissolve into black and neon yellow ooze, glooping onto the ground. A monstrous shadow was cast of even darker quality than the shadows in the area, as a monster began to form.
But from the ooze, a monstrous figure emerged, as it let out a low groan. The monster looking at its creators, Commander Zanzou would simply grin, entrusting it with its first duty... for it to cause chaos in this world, and to let the world know that this group of darkness had risen...
For this group was Umbra, and this monster...? The...

The monster began its rampage of chaos, now taking in the sight of the people that were now beginning to flee from it, as it simply grinned to some extent, extending its hands as silver tendrils emerged from his body. Many of the people in the immediate vicinity of the monster falling victim to its attack, metallic figures began to emerge from their bodies, crashing onto the ground and forming what appeared to be the Trilobite Magia.
At the same time, the monster then released two more tendrils, hues of silver and navy blue decorating its piercing claws. The tendrils burrowed into the ground, as two more metallic figures emerged, created from the surrounding metallic objects... these were the Neohi Magia and Onycho Magia...
Kagerou found himself baring witness to the attack that was now underway, and having split from the group, he immediately began to rush in the direction of his friends, barely avoiding being caught by the stray Trilobite Magia. All the while, he found himself in a state of increased panic, his anxiety beginning to act up.
Immediately reuniting with the rest of the group, they would find themselves caught by some of the Trilobite horde, as a few of its forces charged in their general direction. Mei then zipped past Kagerou in a blur, hitting one of them with a roundkick and sending it flying. The rest of the group looked at her with shock, before they immediately decided to bear arms as well, realizing that they had to suspend their disbelief for the time being.
As Kagerou's group continued to hold off the Trilobite horde (whilst also occasionally destroying one or two), Mei using her martial arts training as the rest of the group used whatever makeshift weapons they could get their hands on in the moment, they found themselves oblivious to the Praeses Monstrum, that was now charging in their direction.
Suddenly, it then zipped in a blur, sending a punch crashing into Kagerou's gut, causing him to not only be sent flying, but also coughing out blood in the process, as he crashed onto the ground, much to the shock of the rest of the group. While his weapon almost fell out of his hand, he was barely able to hold onto it, pushing himself upwards in the process.
Very much weakened, Kagerou found himself barely able to make out the monster's outline, only being able to make out its vague outline. Making a stance, almost like a martyr in certain death, he weakly charged in the direction of the monster, as it easily blocked Kagerou's blow, preparing a strike.
Its hand morphed into what appeared to be a swarm of grasshoppers, much to Kagerou's horror, as it went in for the killing blow, the male now knowing how high his chance of death was going to be...
From a rough area near the mall, two individuals heard the sound of the chaos erupting from the mall, as they immediately made a beeline in the general direction of the building, before noticing the blocked entrances. The former of the two individuals pulled out what appeared to be a blue firearm of some form, shooting a hole into the gate big enough so that they could enter.
At the same time, the other individual pulled out a golden sword, the two individuals then charging in and witnessing the swarm of Trilobite Magia that flooded the mall, led by the Neohi and Onycho Magia and attacking all of the civilians in its sight. Immediately and instinctively jumping into action, they hacked and slashed at the Trilobite horde, slowly killing them off one by one.
And then what happened next...

As the Praeses Monstrum swooped in to attack Kagerou, its attack was suddenly blocked by an unknown force, much to the shock of both parties, as the monster was sent recoiling from a sudden parry that then emerged. A brief light shone throughout the mall for a moment, before dying down to reveal... a Driver and a card of some kind.
Kagerou looked at the artifacts in front of him in shock, almost as if recognizing the design the artifacts took, before he ultimately decided to take the next step, grabbing the two artifacts in the process. Clutching onto them enough for his hand to show bruises, he dropped his makeshift weapon onto the ground, as he held the Driver to his waist.
The belt straps emerged from the unit, wrapping around his waist, as the rest of the group looked on in shock. Scanning the card in his hand on what appeared to be a scanner slot on the Driver, it would then echo a deep and hollow 'Shinwa', the kanji for the word materializing and forming a barrier around the group.
As the Praeses Monstrum then stood up, muttering chants of shock in a deep voice, Kagerou gulped a little, taking a deep breath, as if suddenly understanding what to do, before inserting the card - now stained with black and red archaic runes of some kind - into the Driver. A thick cloud of smoke would envelop him, obscuring his figure and going forth with the transformation.

As the smoke cloud dissipated, a figure emerged.
This was Kamen Rider Densho. Kagerou's Rider form...
As he readied himself, barely catching a glimpse of his suit in one of the broken mirrors, he would find himself pumped with adrenaline, and his entire body a little less weakened than before... however, he focused on the matter at hand, as he would then ready himself, charging in the direction of the Monstrum..
As the Praeses Monstrum continued to send out more of the Trilobite horde that had congregated around it, Kagerou would continue to land punch after punch, finding himself shocked at the sheer strength and speed of his blows. Wondering if this was truly what being a Kamen Rider felt like, he continued to destroy Trilobite after Trilobite, sending one of them crashing into the Praeses Monstrum.
The two parties then continued to fight, as Kagerou suddenly felt as if a voice in the suit called to him, maybe like a ability within its specifications was being activated. As another punch sent the Monstrum reeling, Kagerou reached out, almost as if grabbing the dark light that was in front of him.
And immediately, he was greeted with the sound of a metallic schwing that sent the Monstrum reeling once again, the figure attempting to attack Kagerou in a 'moment of weakness'. Opening his eyes, he witnessed a blade being manifested in front of his eyes, as rays of light emanated from his Driver. At the same time, the lights of the mall would turn on, allowing Kagerou to get a better glimpse of his surroundings.
At the same time, a gunshot was sent crashing into the Monstrum, sending it reeling even more, much to its shock. As Kagerou turned to see the source of the gunshot, he noticed two figures he very much recognized, his expression beneath the mask forming into one of shock.

How was this even possible?
Regardless, the moment of shock was enough for the Monstrum to get up and crash into Kagerou, sending him briefly reeling. However, he immediately got up, regrouping with the other two Riders, the two figures wondering who Kagerou even was and how his transformation was even possible.
However, their attention was suddenly brought to the Monstrum, who was now fuming with rage, almost as if angered by the presence of Valkyrie and Thouser, a reaction seemingly shared with Commander Koushi, who watched from the shadows, his expression turning from a grin into that of a frown.
Immediately, Kagerou readied himself, pulling out the Identity Card from his Driver, inserting it into his weapon. Valkyrie and Thouser did the same, inserting their respective trinkets into their weapons as the three activated their finishers. A burst of yellow, gold and red flew through the air, as two slashes and a barrage of shots crashed into the Monstrum, sending it crashing into a wall and exploding in the process.
At the same time, the Magia horde that had been created from its attacks suddenly dissipated into dust, much to the confusion of the rest of Kagerou's group, who looked on with shock and confusion. The three Riders de-transformed, Kagerou's face in particular reeked with blood he'd coughed out alongside exhaustion.
The three Umbra commanders would simply observe the scene unfolding, as the card Zanzou once used to create the Praeses Monstrum reformed in his hand, repaired cracks decorating the card...
At the same time, two other figures emerged in the rough boundaries of the city, the two having taken a black and yellow motorcycle to arrive. As the male figure took a deep breath, he couldn't help but feel like something was wrong with the city...
