Form 2 Summer Break

I could finally rest after the exams.
The Hong Kong Anime Convention was hosted every year. I invited Tung to go with me via WeChat.
"Wanna go to the Ani-Con?" I messaged.
"What’s an Ani-Con? LOL" she asked.
The heck? Is she from a parallel universe? How out of touch could she be to not have heard of Ani-Con? I was rendered speechless…
"It’s an annual event where you can buy manga and other anime-related stuff,” I explained patiently.
"I'm going back to my hometown this summer!" she replied.
Oh, I see...What?!! I suppose it can’t be helped.
"Oh, when are you going back? Remember to take some pictures for me!" I messaged.
"I don't know for sure when, but I'll make sure to take pictures, don't worry," she replied.
"Great.”
On the first day of summer break, I joined the summer classes and had to go back to school for schoolwork and to learn various skills.
The night before summer classes, Tung told me that she was leaving on the day after, and I,of course, bid her farewell. But I didn't do so in person, I used another method.
At 8:00 a.m. that morning.
"Are you ready to board the plane?" I asked her via WeChat.
"Yeah, basically,” she replied
"I can't come in person to see you off, this is the best I could do," I messaged.
"Haha, it’s alright, thanks," she replied.
"No need to be so polite, it’s nothing worth thanking for! We've known each other for so long. May Christ bless you," I messaged.
"You make it sound like I'm going on an adventure LOL," she responded.
"I didn't mean that. I was just wishing you happiness," I explained.
"Oh, okay, I'm almost time, bye," she bid me farewell.
"Well, bye.” I typed my last words in relief, then got dressed and went outdoors.
It was super hot on the way to school. I was sweating a lot even though I was merely wearing a school sweatshirt, and...
I'm almost late!Have-ta run!!
I ended up still being late, but somehow didn’t get punished. Yeah!
At night, she sent me photos as she promised.
Her hometown was in the northeast of China. She sent me several photos.
The first was taken on the plane. Outside of the window were a bunch of clouds, vast grassland, and tall mountains.
The second picture was taken in a car. Outside of the car were, again, grasslands, and the sun was shining brightly.
In the third picture was the entrance to a garden. The entrance’s door, surrounded by a bunch of flowers and grasses, looked grandiose.
"Nice pics,” I applauded.
"Duh," She responded.
"Is it cold over there?" I asked.
"Cold? It's frickin hot here!” she replied.
Then, one day during lunch break between summer classes, I went out for lunch with my buddy Yang.
As a “late-stage Chuunibyou” patient, I suddenly said proudly, "I want to start an organization dedicated to upholding justice and righteousness. Serving the light from the dark, lurking in the shadows at all times. I am naming the organization ‘The Marginalized’. I also want my own exclusive weapon, a hidden blade like those in Assassin’s Creed."
"Sure, I certainly support you." He played along like a lunatic. “I'll get you the weapon as your birthday present."
"Great!" I happily replied.
I was in love with a game called Assassin's Creed back then. I would sometimes intentionally walk around in hoodies under broad daylight (frankly, it was hot as fxxk.) I would crawl around and even practiced parkour (but I was too chicken to attempt most of the parkour moves). I was at my physical peak back then (I could do 7-8 pull-ups in a row, which I thought was pretty impressive for a 14-year-old like me).
Although I was a sporty person at the time, parkour was still too intense and scary for me. How on earth did those master assassins do so elegantly?
I practiced a lot. Tried wall-climbing but wasn’t strong enough. Tried hurdles but was afraid of falling. Tried long-jumping but was afraid of slipping. Alas, being a failure among failures, I ended up not daring to attempt almost every single parkour move.
During Summer, I talked to Tung nearly every single day. Yet occasionally, she wouldn't respond, which was a bit irritating.
I spent almost every day playing video games during summer break. I would also sometimes go to the gym and practice pull-ups. Although I was very skinny, I was not weak. My arms were thin, but my biceps weren’t flaccid. I turned myself from" skinny" to" slim".
Just like that, my summer break ended before I realized. When it was almost over, that feeling resurfaced...
"I miss you, I wanna see you."
One night during Summer, on my way back home after dinner, I imagined myself being a ronin(wandering samurai) stepping on the snow while holding a katana in the silent streets under the lonely street lights. I was under the influence of my Chuunibyou again, haha.
Later, Yang told me that he could not get his hands on a hidden blade. I did not mind, at least he tried.
He gave me a" crossbow” instead, which was fun to play with. I used it to shoot pens.
I once accidentally shot a pen out of the window. I prayed that it did not hit anyone, or else I would be in big trouble.
The summer break ended quickly, and I was looking forward to my third year in secondary school.
Form 2 ......................................... Ended!
The first semester of Form 3 began!!
