I offered a pro-bono translation service to the author in order to encourage him to do his best in the 2022 HKDSE public exam, and this is what he picked to have me translate from Cantonese to English.

This is a Hong Kong school romance novel that is based on the author’s own personal experience. There were neither groundbreaking premises, nor mind blowing plot twists, it was just an ordinary story about a school crush. Yet, while both the sweetness and bitterness may seem familiar to most, there was a slight “exotic” touch that differentiate this story from what you would normally see from a US or UK school-rom story. It might seem out of touch to some, but realistic to some others from a certain place.
