Pained is my brain,

as I try to comprehend,

the words that drip out of his mouth,

These mind-bending symbols,

of addition and multiplication,

of division and subtraction,

These words I cannot understand,

They meddle with my brain,

The numbers stare up at me,

Cruel, torturous and mocking, 

I cry out in frustration,

so near to ripping my hair, 

But the numbers did nothing,

They only gazed back,

My mind an aching mess of confusion.
