“Wow. This place sure looks different in the daylight,” Ethaniel whistled.
“It could just be all the people,” Harley responded.
“Yeah, she didn’t really strike me as the partying type. What do you think, Cameo?”
“Huh? Oh, yeah, right.” Cameo squinted against the sun’s glare. The driveway was full of cars, vehicles spilling out onto the road. The tall white fence prevented anyone outside from seeing how many people were actually there, but the laughter indicated a sizable party.
Cameo shrugged his letterman jacket closer around his shoulders. He hadn’t seen Infinity since she had slammed her front door in his face six months ago. He hadn’t thought he would ever see her again.
He shook the thought out of his head. His personal relationship would have to wait.
He glanced back at the three people standing behind him. Harley, his cousin, an amazing coder, hacker, and engineer. Ethaniel, Harley’s boyfriend and an all around nice guy. Tanner, tall and strong and silent. These were the people he trusted most in the world. These were the people he had spent the darkest time of his young life with. These were the people who would die for him, and he would just as soon do the same for them.
