Poem Writing - Breaking

Do you ever feel like you're at the edge

At the brink

One step away from breaking

Cracking

Do you ever just want to let go

End everything

Drop off the face of the Earth

And just let yourself be split open

Feel you’re muscles tighten and stretch

Feel the wind in you’re hair

Do you ever feel the world crushing down on your shoulders

And you’re struggling to hold on

Do you ever feel yourself slipping

Holding on with a slackned grip

To something you can’t seem to comprehend

And you wonder ‘why should I care to hold on?’

Do you ever feel dead

Alive physically

Done mentally

Dead emotionally

Do you ever feel your feet hovering over the edge

Awaiting the drop of no return

Do you ever feel your heart screaming

But you’re mind pleading

Do you ever feel like breaking down

Letting yourself be split open for all to see

Release the pent up rage

Sadness

Despair

Do you keep it inside

Like I

Do you keep it locked away for none to see

And smile anyway

Despite your feelings

…….I’m breaking

Deep down

And I know

Somewhere out there

Someone else is too.
