I walk into the grocery store after my agonizing 30 minute wait in the pouring rain. So with my rain-soaked boots, I go sloshing into the toilet paper aisle. I see one pack left, and I make a mad dash. It feels like I'm running for the Olympics, and technically I am, just the COVID-19 Olympics. I'm almost ther-NO! I see a taller man, probably around 6ft, with a mop of soaking blue hair grabbing the toilet paper. He stares at me, with soft green eyes and even through the face mask I can see his sly grin.
"I see we are looking for the same thing?" He questions.
"Yeah.." I stutter out, observing all of his piercings.
"Who needs it more, me, Christian, or you.."
"James." I tell Christian.
"Well James, you could just go to the next store, but I figure you might not want to, considering the," He looks at my soaked pastel purple button up and black skinny jeans, "circumstances."
I realize we are less than 6 feet, so I immediately step back a bit before saying, "Says the one who has a mop for hair currently."
"Fair, I'll give you that one."
"So... who is getting it?" I ask quietly, blush rising up my cheeks.
"Hm, our numbers?"
"You are inferring that I'm into you? I just met you literally less than 5 minutes ago."
"That blush rising up your face says otherwise." He sings.
