Alice opens her eyes and couldn't see anything in front of her.
"Where am I...? Where did Shaner send me now? I can't see anything," she said and starts creating an artificial light.
Releasing several artificial light orbs around her, she morphs her knife into a handheld lantern and lights it on with a tiny fire generated on the tip of her index finger by means of magic.
"This place....even with the light, it's all pitch black around here. Is this...the Darkness? Did he send me to the Realm of Darkness?" she asked herself out loud.
Being alone, she looks around before looking down under her feet. The surface she stepped on reveals a lot of shadow hands attempting to reach for her but couldn't due to said hands, trapped under the solid surface she stepped on despite being in an empty world of darkness. Alice could hear the wailing cry of helps, screams, and hopeless cries at the same time from every direction.
"They said that this place used to be alive but now...the event turned the inhabitants into these poor souls," she stated.
The surface below her shatters and the shadow hands extend and attempt to reach all the lights Alice had created while she herself slowly drown from her body weight and over the fact that the hands are growing taller and taller than her just to reach the light source she created.
"Whoa...easy there, spirits," Alice said.
As she is about to drown, she chants a mantra and expels the growing darkness with a burst of light from within her. The talismans in her pocket start blinking in orange light and when she takes them out, one of the blank talisman gain a sigil in the shape of a burned wing with three tufts above the wing.
"This is....heh, so you finally found a way to insert your power even though you are far from here," she gives a big smirk at the sight.
Alice clears her throat and puts 2 talisman papers between her fingers.
"Summon....Krampus and Phoenix," she shouted and throw the talismans to the sky.
The talismans transforms into spirit orbs and Krampus physically appears when the orb landed while Phoenix physically appears after his spirit orb flew around.
"Hrrrm....," Krampus growled.
"Kyaaa! I'm finally here! It's been a while, kid," Phoenix said.
Phoenix then notices the surrounding as pitch black and there's nothing around them other than the howling voice of despair and crying.
"Is this what I think it is?" he wondered.
"A boy named Shaner sent me here," Alice explained.
"Shaner?" the bird turn to her with wide eyes.
"It's a complicated one. He came to our village and attempt to attack me in my sleep but after everyone stopped him, he went back to normal but...that boy...he has the Forbidden Force as his companion to help him escape from Hell. Why did he come here? He was originally looking for Obscura but after Mirage's personal warriors attacked my Village while I was trying to bring the boy back. He went to the Forbidden Forest in his hunt for Obscura and I managed to bring him back but..." Alice stopped her explanation midway and lets out a long sighs.
"This happened, am I right?" Phoenix guessed.
Alice nods several times.
"Well yes, me and everyone did manage to stop Mirage's personal warriors but then Shaner woke up and under the Forbidden Force's control at the time. Me and Mirage decided to stop him or to be exact, find a way to send the boy off to somewhere else he will kill everyone in his path....I never expect that when he found out what me and Mirage attempted to do, he created a vortex that send anyone who are near it, into this Realm. Mirage is fine but I got caught by the vortex and now I'm here," she said with eyes closed, her face visibly tired.
Alice then yawns loudly, her eyes still closed.
"I know that I should be shaking in fear but...I'm tired....too tired to even react," she admitted.
"We need to find a way out of here somehow," Phoenix told her.
Alice nods and puts her right palm forward.
"I'm so tired. I will just stay here for a while," she told Phoenix and sit down cross-legged.
She releases the Essence of Darkness and lets it absorb the surrounding darkness. She turns off all sources of light and enters a long temporary slumber. Vathek's spirit manifest near her and watch over her along with Phoenix and Krampus.
After a while, Alice wakes up from her long sleep and stands up.
"How long have I been asleep? It feels like time stops moving when you're in this place," she said.
"No sign of life over here either or is there?" Phoenix wondered while he looks around.
As they search for a way out....Alice sees a small light from afar and squints her eyes.
"What is that?" she asked.
"It looks like a light orb....Wait, it's moving. That's not a light, that's a soul!" Phoenix told her after he gave a long stare at it from afar.
"What's it doing here?" Alice wondered and approach the light.
Approaching the light closer, she could see a spirit whose transparent body gives off a dim light, kneeling, and tiny cries can be heard coming from him.
"Are you okay?" she reached out her hand to the kneeling figure.
The figure turns his head to Alice, his face visibly depressed.
"Who is there? A human? How long has it been...it has been a long time since the last time a human appeared here," the figure stated.
"I heard a cry coming from you. How long have you been trapped in here?" Alice asked him.
"How long....I had no idea. I presumed it has been a decade. Time has stopped moving in here and anyone who were brought here...forever trapped," the figure answered.
"There has to be a way to get out of here, I just know it. There's no way something like this place has no exit," Alice said.
"I like your optimism. You can try if you want but I can't help you with it sadly," the figure said.
"Why don't you come with me then? If I manage to gets out from this realm, you are free to go on separate ways from me," she said.
"Free? Where would I go? I have nowhere to go. I have no more place in this world, I am nothing but lingering spirit to you humans," the figure said with hopeless voice.
"At least you can be here by my side, accompanying me. Come on! Come here...," Alice persuaded with both of her hands opened wide in similar manner to offering him a hug.
The figure gives a tiny smile despite his eyes still partially pessimistic and hopeless, and turns into a worn-out grey spirit orb which Alice carries on both hands.
"Don't worry, you will be here with me, my friend," Alice said to the spirit orb.
She gives the spirit orb a quick sniff kiss and absorbs it, adding the entity's soul in the magic vessel within her.
"I didn't think you would befriend a very old entity," a voice heard coming from far behind her.
Alice gasps in shock and turn to where the voice came from.
"Who's there?" she asked while looking around.
"Reveal yourself!" Phoenix shouted.
A dirty grey-colored small wide energy wave projectile made of darkness suddenly flew to them at high speed. Alice put both arms next to each other in front of her face and casts barrier against it but it managed to partially pierce through and directly hit her arms. A blade wound appear on both arms and start bleeding.
"Gh....it managed to pass through barrier and hit my arms that I used to defend," she said and her left hand clench on the bleeding wound of her right arm.
"Ohohoho!!!" a laughing voice echoed somewhere around them.
"This voice...Obscura! You're here!?" Alice shouted.
She looks around then suddenly feel something sharp pointed on the side of her throat and her eyes instantly turn to the back despite couldn't see the entity.
"You....!" she whispered, her teeth growling at the invisible entity.
Phoenix is visibly confused at the situation and casts Dispel in the area around everyone. The Dispel reveals a grotesque spirit monster behind Alice.
Phoenix gasps and Obscura intimidate everyone by pointing the needle deeper on Alice's throat.
"You think you can kill me this way? Coward...you're a coward," she said to Obscura boldly.
"What do you know about me? You know nothing of it. That boy will never come here to help you, little missy," Obscura said to her with disrespecting tone.
"Shaner? Heh, he sent me here. Why would he come here to help me?" Alice told her with cocky tone.
"Cih...," Obscura is visibly annoyed and stab both sides of her throat before pulling out her long sharp nails.
"Gahh!!!!" Alice yelped in pain and put both hands on the bleeding wounds immediately.
"Alice!" Phoenix shouted and casts Heat Wave from his wing on Obscura.
Obscura vanishes and appear in different location but not too far away from them.
"You brat...You are beyond comprehension. Just what kind of environment you grew up with, brat?? What is wrong with you and the people in your village?? Your kind disgust me," Obscura commented about her upbringing.
"Us? We Magicians were witches, shamans, voodoo, prophet, necromancer, scientists, even musician. Every kind of people who can use magic one way or another. Being exiled from our hometown doesn't stop us from moving on. We keep going and we survived to this day. And I won't let anything stop me from searching them, not even pain will stop me. Obscura..." Alice stands up despite the fatal wounds on her neck.
Obscura's eyes widens and start stepping back when the girl starts walking closer to her.
"Let's do this!" Alice said.
All three of them run to Obscura and attempt to send her to the afterlife.
Krampus sends his army of ghastly hand controlled puppets to her while Phoenix releases his fire feathers from his wings in wide area on the ghost to limit the spaces Obscura can use to avoid the attacks.
"Clever fire bird," Obscura commented.
She used warp to disappears and appear in different location before attempting to attack Phoenix from behind.
"Behind you!" Alice shouted to Phoenix.
Phoenix disappears, leaving a trail of fire feathers in his former spot before he appears far from everyone and hit Obscura with a high-speed charge while his body covered in fire. While Obscura distracted by Phoenix, Alice turns to Krampus and looks at him.
"Krampus, do you have enough power to do a giant breath type of attack?" Alice asked.
Krampus look up and put his fingers under his chin, thinking for a while before lowering his head to her height level and whispered.
"I unleash my fire breath, will that be sufficient?" he said directly to her mind.
"Can you make that fire breath bigger?" Alice spreads both arms as she asked this.
"Unfortunately, no," Krampus answered.
Alice tried to think about how to make his fire larger then it hit her. She has enough mana to amplify and manipulate the size of the breath.
"Ah...why didn't I think of that? Krampus, I will be helping you for this one," she told him.
Krampus turns to where Obscura will be and his eyes turn to the girl behind him. Alice gives a thumb up to say that they're ready and turns herself into Spirit, entering the hooved demon. Krampus dives into the darkness under his feet and a giant spike armadillo emerges from below in his place. It then releases a gigantic breath of blue fire mixed with darkness and electric elements in straight pattern as soon as Obscura within its range. Phoenix look at the giant beast from above after he moved away from its attack. Obscura screams in pain as soon as the giant beam hit her. When It closes its mouth, Obscura is seen barely holding herself together and partially transparent.
"Hrrr.....I won't let myself be killed here. (Whisper) I'm about to vanish from existence, cih....We will meet again one day," Obscura said.
She steps back and disappears. When Obscura left, everyone sees a light appear from afar. All the entities summoned return to the talisman and Alice run to the light, taking her to somewhere.
