To profess love was the dare,

All he could do was beware.

As scared he was,

In anticipation he waited.

She was his best friend,

The one knew him inside out,

She would even have guessed what was on,

Without a doubt.

But he was careful,

His friends in glee,

As they waited for him to complete and be free.

Every time they talked,

He hurt himself a bit,

Every time she smiled,

His insides crumbled.

Every time she laughed,

His world rumbled.

He hurt when he talked to her,

He hurt when he didn't,

The only cure was to have her for his.

His friends knew,

He did.

All that was left was the professing bit.

She was the last puzzle,

To the mystery of his,

Their love was incessant,

But different still.

All that remained was the professing bit.

He wanted her as his,

But was afraid to ask,

All he had to do was set to the task.

The dare was tough,

But a challenge to him,

He'd fight for her,

There was still fight left within.

And soon the day came,

For him to talk,

He asked her out,

In a moonlight walk.

The breeze was soft,

Teh rustling of the leaves,

Beauty all around,

The perfect set piece.

And with a rose in hand,

He completed the dare,

Confessed his love,

The hurt he had had.

The countless conversations,

Where he had wished she was his,

The countless smiles,

That had made him sigh,

The beautiful voice,

That he'd die.

And she stared at him,

Taking it in,

She accepted the rose,

And hugged him.

All was well,

The dare complete.

He had found the love of his life,

And eternal they'd stay,

Incessant and more.

He'd done the dare and so much more.
