It’s strange to think. 

Strange to feel, 

It’s all gone in a blink. 

It takes too long to heal, 

All these wounds have taken their toll. 

My body is a mess. 

And yet people still say I have been blessed. 

I don’t think so, 

For there is still a gaping hole, 

Growing each day in my heart. 

They say I’ve survived another day, 

So why be sad? 

Can’t they see that every day I live,

Just adds more to my pain? 

It’s strange to think. 

Strange to feel, 

I’ve lost, 

And conquered, 

Yet still, feel empty inside. 

No, 

That’s a lie. 

I feel rage. 

Such anger burns bright in my heart at this world. 

Rage at all the pain I feel. 

My scars won’t heal. 

I won’t heal. 

I’ll just live on and on. 

Trying to survive. 

It’s strange to feel, 

Strange to think such thoughts, 

That at this moment, 

At this time, 

I’m lonely inside.
