"Hey.." Clary said while placing a hand on the girls shoulder. The girl jumped and turned around fast, to see who was touching her. "Sorry to scare you like that. I was just wondering whats wrong. Oh and by the way my name's Clary."

"hi........I'm Hazel." The girl, hazel, was hesitant to talk, but who could blamer her? A random girl was talking to her. 

"Okay, Hazel," She started to cry harder. Clary felt bad, she didn't mean to make her cry more. "Please don't cry anymore.....Do you want to tell me why your crying?"  Clary asked Hazel.

"Oh, sorry. Could you please not say okay?" Clary thought that was a weird request but it was Hazel that was crying so she agreed. "Uhm sure."

"Thanks. It's just that HE says it." Hazel said looking down. 

"Well whose he?"

"He is my boyfriend. He has cancer. Hes dying. I was supposed to be the one to die. I was the unhealthy one. My cancer was supposed to kill me first. Not him."

Clary felt really bad for the girl and wanted to try to help her. She was thinking of was to help when she thought that maybe she could try to make a new rune to heal cancer. 

"Hey...Hazel, I have an idea that might, emphasis on the might, make you feel better. Would you like my help?"

Hazel looked up at Clary, hopeful. "Yes please!"

"O-Alright," She almost slipped and said okay but caught herself. "Take me to see this boyfriend of yours." Hazel gave her look but then agreed and started to lead the way. 

On their walk there Hazel told Clary all about her boyfriend, Augustus Waters. Clary also told Hazel about her boyfriend, Jace Herondale. Clary didn't tell Hazel about the other world that only members of it could see, yet. She was waiting to be asked. 

Once they got to his house, Hazel made introductions. The three of them were the only ones there. Augustus was happy to do whatever Clary was there for just to make Hazel happy. 

"Augustus, this may hurt a bit, but just let it happen." He gave Clary an uneasy look and then turned to Hazel giving her a reassuring smile. 

Clary closed her eyes and thought about healing cancer, letting her hand draw with her stele on Augustus's skin.

When she had finished she opened her eyes to see her work. It looked a lot like the healing rune except it had swirls and a ribbon added to the design. 

The other two looked at her like she was insane. The first to speak was Augustus. "What did you just do? and how is that supposed to help?"

"It's called a rune, its to heal. I'm a shadowhunter from a world different then yours, while being in yoru world. There's things about this world that you don't know about." Clary just wanted to leave it at that, as to not shock them more than they already were. 

Hazel went with it and said "Thank you Clary!" 

"No problem. I always like helping my friends." She said with a smile. 

After that Clary left leaving the happier couple alone. 

The three of them stayed in touch after that first day meeting. Clary had also learned the reason behind Hazel getting sad when she said okay. Sadly the rune didn't completely heal Augustus. It only healed some parts of his body. It had slowed down his death though. After that visit he got healthier but not fully healthy.

He died a few months later. 

Even though they met over something so sad, Clary and Hazel became great friends, and still are today.
