The wave reader screamed again.

She had been placed outside her family’s care years earlier, hidden away in hopes of suppressing the abilities she had inherited. But suppression was never truly possible. Not for someone like her.

They had first discovered 87’s lineage when her mother — Subject 56 — created her own boom on the reader. Misfortune followed her like a shadow. People around her suffered accidents, illnesses, sudden strokes of bad luck. It was then the organization realized what they were dealing with: a bloodline capable of bending reality.
