Since short stories are...so short, writers had to develop ways to hook their readers until the very end. Write down below an opening sentence that hooked you into a book
One hook I like is someone reacting to something. This makes me want to find out what's making them react in such a way.
Starting out with a good description is good start for me, too.

I would say another great hook would be dialogue.
"Put the girl down, drop the gun and put your hands up," I pause, "NOW!"

"I knew it was you from the beging Jackson, I couldnt prove it thats all."
