#6I think it might be something about the people here that makes it so friendly. We're not necessarily "big wigs" or anything like that on other sites. Some might be, but most are not. And we see what happens when people get big heads, and when they talk others down for any reason, so we try to avoid talking others down, going instead for helping others build themselves up.

#7Exactly. It's not an ego show, the majority of us are here to improve ourselves in a community of like minded people, not looking for fans and to up the number of views for our pieces purely out of vanity

#9I don't even understand how one becomes a big wig while writing... I mean, reading the amazing stuff you guys put up all the time costantly humbles me! I agree, 10/10 for the community here

@Civil Disobediance, I want my words to reach people's hearts. I want them to love my characters far more than they love me. Let them have their money!

@Civil Disobediance, Have you heard of Stephanie Meyer's "The Host"? It's actually not too bad. Better than Twilight.

I've heard all good things about The Host, though I haven't read it. I have seen the movie (I know, I know,) and thought that it was all very well done. You can tell it's Stephanie Meyer, though, because the relationships are incredibly dramatic and complicated, ha ha!

Ah, I'm a professional TV watcher... I mean, security consultant... so I tend to have a lot of time on my hands. Not always a good thing!

Boy is it boring, though! My job description actually puts me right there with you on drunks, though, as I mainly deal with healthcare crisis', and that involves a lot of substance abuse

@Civil Disobediance, it's a job. Subway sounds rough to me haha. I hated food service ;P Respect for being able to put up with it!

@Civil Disobediance, exactly the position my wife and I are in, without the baby. She isn't a huge fan of her job either, but she's in college and we'd really be scraping by without her. I grew up very privileged but my parents drilled me in the value of hard work, so I was out as soon as possible (three weeks after graduating high school). I put my time in at a dead end job (we lived paycheck to paycheck for a year, and had about $20 in the bank each week after bills). Now I'm luck enough to make enough by my self, and she takes care of the extras. The struggle is real, you're not alone!

@Civil Disobediance, I loved the Outsiders, I read it when I was about thirteen. I actually just incorporated this whole concept into the end of the latest chapter of my NaNoWriMo project before this conversation!
