Anyone else put together writing playlists for certain stories? I have been having SO much fun with the list of music that inspires this story for me. Its all Korean pop, 1980s new wave and pop with a few modern songs thrown in as well.
Do y'all like to listen to certain songs for certain stories you write?
Agreed. When writing an action scene, I need extremely loud and zany songs, but if the song happens to switch to a slow one, then the quality of writing drops dramatically. So basically, binge metal, kids!
@Andrew Knight, Hey, I see the wrong and stupid in every person around me. I don't know if that's because of an "old soul" or I'm just cynical. Or maybe I'm a cynical old soul. Or I'm crazy. I'm hungry. Is anyone else hungry? Because I am. Maybe some prunes and sardines will help. Ha!
@HoldenKern, these days, I totally don't mind being called a kid. I've been wearing anti-wrinkle cream since I was 22 as a preventative measure. Mistaken for younger, the better.
And yes, the songs I am currently listening to for this scene I'm on are way too basic to even mention, its almost embarrassing.
@Frances, I see...well, I'm way too short for my own good (or everyone in my school are radioactive tree monsters. I would read that comic), so I get mistaken for like a fifth grader sometimes. It's a harsh life we live. Cold, alone, and short. Give to the "Short Children Charity", help dwarves in need!
@HoldenKern, oh honey, your twelve, give yourself a few years. You'll be fine. I promise. Its all uphill for you but at 27, its all downhill for me haha
@Sophia Laney, Yay!!! I thought it might work. I wrote a story about a American nurse in WW2 with bad PTSD to that last soundtrack winter and it worked wonders.
If anyone needs something dramatic, orchestral and stringed....holy mackerel. I just found this one and it blew me away. I just had to put it out there to yall.
This is absolutely beautiful! I love pieces that are purely instrumental. Have you heard this one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3BuTwCOa4c The pianist isn't very well known, but I love his compositions. :)
If anyone needs something emotional and soaring to listen to for an emotional/uplifting scene/ sad scene, here is a song that may help you.

It's from a Korean drama. :-) I haven't really watched it but the theme song is absolutely beautiful and got me through last year's NaNoWriMo. And this year's too. :-)
