Hello,
As a writing school, we offer grading for stories. Now we don't have an official grading sheet as of yet. But I am hoping to change that. Here is an outline that is used by the Everfree Northwest writing track.
Technical: spelling and grammar (out of 5)
Plot: solidity and flow (out of 5)
Character: depth, personality, and dialogue (out of 5)
Creativity: originality, descriptiveness, and word variety (out of 5)
Misc: up to the staff member's discretion. Anything about the author or their story that is unique and of note. (extra credit out of 5)
The first four categories are the main part of the grade, which is out of 20 plus any extra credit from the fifth and converted to a percentage.
This method is up for discussion. Any differing ideas or inquiries are welcome; do not be afraid to speak your mind and voice your opinions. Now the final decision will be made by the staff, but student's ideas will be included in the voting options.
It seems I saved you the bother of typing a message (trolling intended). I had noticed the grading requests and had a facepalm moment. In my busyness I'd overlooked the whole grading factor.
When I saw this method, it was exactly what I was looking for. The humor in this whole voting decision is that you and I make up 2/3 of the quorum. In all reality, this would now technically be official. Personally, I'd rather wait until widowandmother replies, though.
Thank you!
I'm sorry for being away. Been busy, but I think this grading idea is brilliant, and will try to put myself to use in this community tomorrow, since i won't have much time tonight.
