It is seriously in doubt of Nefertiti's actual date of death considering what happened after Akhenaten died. Smenkhkare or Neferneferuaten ruled after and there was a regency during the end of his reign. As exciting as it would be to find Nefertiti; she most likely ruled Egypt AFTER her husband died before Tut and her daughter took the throne and had to restore the old religion. Do you SERIOUSLY think the priests of Amon (Karnak) were going to let a woman let a lone the woman who helped bring about THEIR downfall and prestige "live on in the after life"? According to Ancient Egyptian religion; Amenhotop IV (Akhenaten) will NEVER EVER have entered the afterlife. Look at the state of his "mummy"...it isn't a mummy...it is a pile of bones. Women rarely took power in Egypt; yes, Hatshepsut was a rarity. As well as Cleopatra VII (last pharaoh of independent Egypt). The few other "rarities"; Tausret, Ahmose-Nefertari (regent though), Nefertiti is also considered a pharoah. Ashotep (again another regent),Sobeknefru as a co-ruler at the end of her father's reign...but statues of her are headless; because she dared to take a man's role? Hmm. Ankhnesmeryre II; another regent mom. Nimaethap mom of Djoser who built the step pyramid in Saqqara (another regent). I mention these important women who held incredible power but the costs were high; if a woman actually held the title of Pharaoh? She was ERASED from history and her body destroyed for doing what was against the nature of the gods. Sorry to pee on the happy parade. If they do find Nefertiti; I would be the first one to drop my jaw, roll in my tongue, and scream; OMFG. Look at what history has done to Cleopatra...the vile seductress of Julius Caesar and Marc Antony...woe to the Romans of a well educated woman! OOOOOO scary
Also WHAT stories of Ramses II and his sons are you referring? The bible?!?
The Egyptian Book of the Dead was their spell book to navigate the afterlife. Any one of you know the Papyrus of Ani?
