I have finally decided to try my hand at something a little bit easier than historical fiction this year. I'm writing a young adult story set in college. It's a music setting at a prestigious conservatory in New York City. Maybe Juilliard. I'm not sure yet. I've been to Juilliard before (sort of but not as a student). I don't know a lot about it, so I might just make it a fictional one so I don't have to worry about research (hehe). Anyway, my MC is a young woman who fell in love with piano playing at ten years old after hearing a thirteen year old prodigy playing at a world class piano competition for young musicians.
I'm pretty excited about the story as a whole. It's the first time I'm writing a music based story. I'm trained in singing and I dabble in piano playing also but I've never been able to conjure up the right story until now.
