Thanks! I just like creating characters. I have, like, fourteen billion characters I've never used somewhere in the pile of papers on my desk, so it'll be nice to have one actually go somewhere.

@The Scribe of Heroes, I couldn't relate more lmao. I'm making new characters almost every day trying to make the story interesting. Then writers block hits like a brick. But listen if you ever want to work together, maybe do a collaboration or even if you need some help don't hesitate to reach out to me I'd be glad to help!

@ObsessedWithDragonBall, That could be really fun. And hey, it might help get me interested in the three actual publishable books I have on hold right now.

@The Scribe of Heroes, Yeah it can be pretty cool, and about your books, you should totally publish them! I'm sure they are great.

@ObsessedWithDragonBall, yeah, maybe, but I get, like, five chapters in, and then I'm like 'okay, but where do I go from here?' One thing that's worked in the past is, when in doubt, add a cousin. That advice is immediately followed with, then make everybody love that cousin, then, right when everybody adores him without reservation, either reveal him as the bad guy or kill him, then end the book.

@The Scribe of Heroes, Lol, I totally get it. I'll be the same way and I'll ask some of the other's working on the story with me and say 'Okay so we have like.. 13 chapters, what do we do now?' and one of them will just go 'Kill the main character for absolutely no reason or introduce another villain have him kill someone important.' and I almost did that twice. Luckily someone had made a concept for a pretty cool villain and I used him.

@ObsessedWithDragonBall, Yeah. On a semi-related, but not really related, tangent, is it just me, or are the villains - or the random guy no one really expected to amount to much more than sarcastic relief - in anything - book, movie, series, whatever - always the best characters?

@The Scribe of Heroes, I completely get what you're saying! It often seems like the villains or unexpected characters in stories can be some of the most intriguing and memorable. They often have complex motivations, unique personalities, and can add a certain depth to the story. Maybe it's because they challenge the status quo and provide an interesting contrast to the more conventional heroes.

@ObsessedWithDragonBall, True. And they always have the best lines. Like the hero always seems to have the normal, boring, 'protect the universe' lines, and then you have the villain over there, like, hording the good lines. Plus villains have so much more complexity than heroes. I mean, sure, heroes have complexities. But villains are the ones who have to have justification, and they're the ones who have to have a more complicated character design. They're the ones that have to have the sort of moral stance that makes us question our day to day standards for what is good and right of us to do. And how will we get that if they aren't complex. But the complexity, and the moral stance, and the personality that they have to have to be able to be that foil for the hero gives them a complexity most character simply lack. At least, in my opinion.

@The Scribe of Heroes, I completely agree! Villains often steal the show with their compelling lines and complex characterizations. They're the ones who push the boundaries of morality and challenge our perceptions of good and evil. Their justifications for their actions and their intricate character designs make them intriguing and thought-provoking. While heroes are essential for the story's moral compass, it's the villains who add depth and nuance to the narrative. In many ways, they are the ones who drive the story forward and make us question our own values. So, I share your opinion that the complexity and moral stance of villains often make them more captivating characters than the heroes.
