Interesting take on pride. Not for oneself, but pride for someone else, interesting indeed. It almost felt as if it landed on a note of non-self differentiation, that the father was proud, and so proud that it possible clouded his view. Still pride, but a creative twist. At least, that's how I read it... :P Good job!
