Can't help laughing at Lance blaming his countrymen for not getting a spot, even though he was found food more important than getting there on time! I will say that I enjoyed this chapter the most of the ones we got from Lance's POV. Finally we are getting some insight in his past, and some recognition of his struggles. Even if it is still interspersed with his foolish and impulsive behaviour, though that is part of who he is. Great to see him helping the boy, I only hope that he gets something out of the competition.
And I'm assuming this is the same priest from a couple of chapters before, the different pawns within the story are meeting up and I'm excited to see where you are taking it from here.
