As a security guard, I'm glad I will never find myself in this situation. Thankfully, my position forbids me from getting involved in any violent altercation unless absolutely necessary. We do not chase. We do not search and seize, and we do not detain. That's the police's job. I'm only supposed to observe and report. I would hate to be a security guard that is required to do those things. We do have armed guard positions, but I would never sign up for them. Poor guy. He was just doing his job. XD
