以前看過相關的東西。如果儲存長期記憶的大腦部位受損，例如海馬體，那麼可能這個人往後就只能擁有短期記憶，保存期限為幾秒至幾個星期不等，也就是說這個人會無限次地回歸到他大腦相關記憶區沒受損前的最後記憶階段。小說《別相信任何人》的女主角在車禍發生后記憶只能儲存一天，儘管已經四十多歲每天醒來都以為自己還是二十多歲。所以這些事不算超現實吧。
