I don't like the sudden change of heart from Sylvia. It seems too sudden. I can't see her apologizing directly...maybe indirectly but not so forward so fast.
It's supposed to seem a bit forced and fake. She's trying to force herself to be liked so that she can live a while longer. It's not a bad plan, but it's a terrible execution.
every time I read a book where the characters aren't in a good position to deal with it the author just leaves it out - take the secret island for example, the characters hold it in for a couple of weeks on a secluded island. It makes no sense!
@Nor, And it's actually physically impossible to hold it that long. My record is about 3 days...not on purpose, I just kept forgetting and I was really, /really/ dehydrated.
@shnuffeluv, to be honest I really didn't need to know that. Although I am impressed. My records only a day and a half and that was pushing it... I have suddenly realised just how odd this conversation is...
@shnuffeluv, trust me, neither do I. I'm pretty much famous with my friends for being wierd and not knowing when to stop... Join the club, fellow wierdo!
