狼頭人的嗅覺能力大概等於北美大灰狼的嗅覺，可以在微風無雨的天氣下，聞到在1.6公里（1英里）外散發的人類味道。

上風處、潮濕、下雨都會縮短距離。

而狼頭人的嗅覺記憶力非常好，也就是說每個人的體味、心情、生理狀態、懷孕與否都有特定的味道，而狼頭人可以記憶得很好。

所以史卡特可以在完全看不到對方，甚至隔著牆壁的情況下靠氣味認出對方是誰。

以前看一些動物小說，他們的描述就是很注重嗅覺跟聽覺，在寫史卡特的時候就直接用上同一個系統的手法～ :P
