對，梅姐於二零零三年九月向公眾宣佈患癌，十月才過四十歲生日，十二月離世。

但她不論唱歌還是演戲的表現都相當成熟，當年亦已有阿姐的風範，亦已是草蜢、許志安、何韻詩等人的師父，但是那些年她才三十多歲。
