現代銀價的話，貴金屬的一兩約37.4公克，然後假設今古食物物價相當，一兩99.985%的純銀價格新台幣1600元，一次掏八兩大約等於⋯⋯12800元新台幣。大概可以吃一桌宴席。

不過這也是晚清因為南美洲白銀大量輸出全世界，造成白銀大貶值後的結果。如果是唐宋時代的白銀，那就值錢啦⋯⋯
