Well, that's an interesting turn! Originally, I intended for Ethan to accompany Emily a while through the story—killing him off immediately definitely feels more visceral and brutal.

For writing, the descriptions and language used were quite elaborate and engaging, making this a fun read! To make Ethan's death even more impactful, though, I would suggest building up the suspense more before the ultimate reveal.
