I've gone through the same experience. "that's not for girls" makes my blood boil and makes me want to punch someone and destroy my entire room but I've always held it in. Thankfully, my parents are slightly more lenient now and allows me to wear what I want.

@Esfandiar C. Hale, yeah I know that feeling! Especially when parents ignore what you're telling them. it takes them a while to grasp their "little princess" doesn't want to be a princess. Disney's Brave, struck a chord with me on that.
