國王不顧反對將大樹砍倒，樹新長的枝幹卻比原先更自由。如果把故事套在現實，大概就是反送中。

故事充滿寓言，把藍色樹換成手機、電視、玩具、讀物，權力者剝奪這些東西，人民越發渴望，慾望是任誰都無法阻止的，無論好與壞。
