It is always a pleasure to read your work and see what plot twist you can come up with. Not sure if you ever heard of the anime "Promised Neverland" but this definitely reminds me of that story,

I've heard of Promised Neverland, read the beginning of the manga. So I know that's high praise if I can channel even a bit of that wonderful story.

The beginning sounded like a reverse twist on my entry XD.
I wasn’t expecting it to end up with the orhpanage and stuff at the end though. Nice plot twist! 👍
