Sylus was sleeping soundly hence the drooling. :-) The metal munchers were made for a specific purpose but that knowledge got lost. Sylus and James will find out that lost knowledge and more about the city Leahstra they're in.

@Saberwolf, theres a chance that the optiin for it got turned off in the story details option. If the creator flips it to yes then the problem should be solved.
