Thank you so much for your comments ^-^ I tried to use kind of old-timey vampiric names for the vampires and really loved the feel of Elvira :) The next couple of chapters are still exposition, but we get into the main plot by the last two chapters I have posted :)

Because of how the world is set up I wanted lots of exposition and was trying my best to not rush into things too much. I personally prefer books that are too slow than too fast and I tend to write a bit too fast paced. So, this was my attempt at slowing down the pacing and giving a really good feel for the world, then introducing everything else :)

@Everleigh,well rushing in this type of story is a bad idea especially in romance novels. Romance depends on us wanting to see the character fall in love and all the juicy bits that follow. If we end up hating the character then the writer has failed. The biggest issue for example with Mary Sues. We're detached and sometimes repulsed by the character which means why do we want them to succeed at being alive much less anything else?

continue to make your characters alive and give us reason to care about them or hate them(as villains go). Make the main character just as human as the readers and not larger than life and we'll continued to hope that she succeed
