Hahaha yeah, your answer’s correct! It’s because of conditional probabilities; think of it as 100 boxes rather than three. If your friend opens 98 empty boxes instead, wouldn’t there be a much larger probability that the prize is in the box you did not pick?
Tiktok… I also stay far away from that. I’m also aro/ace, but unfortunately I don’t have a great interest in geo politics nor history. What do you do for work btw? your current goals seem admirable, here I am chasing money and status like the average human being stuck in the scheme of capitalism.
dang, I hope things improve for you bro. Finding a job, especially one that you like and is fufilling, is hard these days :(
Also status will probably not be too fufilling in the long run. Anyone who wants to befriend you for status(or for money) is a shallow human being. And besides maybe being appealing for jobs it won't do much in a social setting, especially considering the fact that you are aro/ace as well. So my advice(although keep in mind I probably sound really self righteous and I am also a random person on the internet) is to try to not put too much time, effort, money, etc. into status because it won't serve you well in the future and it will really only be a detriment to yourself and how you feel. Also what languages do u speak im curious lol
@SomethingSomethingSomethi, yeah, I’m aware that it isn’t fulfulling and it’s not a ver admirable goal, but I can’t help it. I can speak Cantonese and English fluently, and I know a bit of Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, Filipino, Spanish, French, Russian etc. but only a little. What about you? ph, do you have a dream log or something, perhaps? I’ve strayed far from lucid dreams as meddling with my subconscious just resulted in regular sleep paralysis. Wasn’t very fun, haha.
@char_charlie, Thats cool, I really want to be bilingual one day(I'm monolingual). I am A1-ish in german but its gotten a bit rusty(I stopped studying it around 8 months ago), I am A2 level in Spanish since I studied it in school, and I'm A1 in portuguese(I don't have someone to practice speaking to but I've been trying to learn vocabulary and stuff since around january now). I know a few words in russian and french, I could probably count them all honestly. Currently I want to learn a bit of dutch or swedish if possible in the summer if I can find any good resources for those languages. If not I want to get fluent in both spanish and german in the next 2-3 years. Also I try to write down my dreams but only on weekends since I wake up really early on weekdays. I used to lucid dream far more regularly last year but I've been lacking recently, I don't think I've been reality checking enough. I find that dream journaling doesn't necessarily help too much with lucid dreaming but it does help with remembering your dreams and also its just fun to write down things that never happened to you and go back and see what you wrote in the past. Its the main reason why I can usually remember my dreams every morning whereas most ppl cannot. I used to reality check a lot more(I have been REALLY lacking in this area) and you really have to do it more than 10 times a day otherwise you won't reality check in your dreams. What I do for lucid dreaming is that I go to bed really late on Friday nights around midnight-ish and I usually wake up around 8 oclock on saturday/sunday mornings due to my body clock. Then what I do is that I fall back asleep with the last thoughts in my mind being "remember to reality check and lucid dream" the main thing is that you say your 'mantra' on the cusp of sleep without waking up. Also repeating a mantra while you are pretty awake will cause you not to fall asleep. Having lucid dreaming and reality checking on my mind when I fall asleep usually causes me to reality check in the dream. What I will say is that this isn't guarenteed and when I do get lucid its not at the very beggining where I go into the dream lucid, its in the middle where I remember my original intent to reality check and then I go around doing all the fun dream stuff. I find that this works best for me because REM(the part of your sleep where you dream) doesn't immediately occur when you fall asleep like normal and is only 10-ish minutes whereas the last period of REM is more like 30 and happens at the end of a sleep cycle. This is obviously the more memorable one than the 10 minute REM period so this is why its critical not to really attempt to lucid dream at like 10 or 11 when you first try to fall asleep for the night. But when you fall back asleep for an hour or two after waking up naturally to your body clock despite going to bed late(so basically getting 6-8 hours of sleep) you immediately go back to sleep into another REM period of 30 mins. Another thing I'll say is that I typically also avoid some of the 'WILD' techniques(these are the ones where you try to fall asleep lucid, although they are guarenteed unlike just falling asleep with some sort of mantra or thought). The only time when I felt like I was close to being successful I got excited and stopped the process from continuing. I think for me I would have trouble controlling my feelings/excitement heading into the dream/sleep, plus since I've never successfully did a WILD technique I don't know how it feels farther down into the experience. Also sleep paralysis shouldn't be common and if you are getting this while lucid dreaming you should definitly stop. Obviously sleep paralysis isn't life threatening but its a bad experience. Overall I'm sorry for ranting about my lucid dreaming experiences and lucid dreaming in general, but if you can either have a dream journal or lucid dream I still reccommend doing so!! Also if you want a good source on lucid dreaming I suggest the lucid dream portal on youtube!
@char_charlie, Usually I've heard that sleep paralysis comes when you go into the dream and not when you leave it, I've never experienced something like that from Lucid dreaming. Also do you mean you aren't A1 in Russian, Japanese, etc. or in english? Also if you don't know what the terms mean, A1 is basic conversational level, A2 is closer to intermediate and then C2 is fluency!
@SomethingSomethingSomethi, I'm nowhere close to A1 in any ot fhe languages I listed... I mean conversation wise, I'm A1 in my native language, but writing and reading, absolutely not haha.
@char_charlie, thats still ok. Cantonese(I'm assuming you're reffering to it) has the character system and I'm genuinly shocked that ppl in China are able to memorize all the characters
@SomethingSomethingSomethi, most of them can read, but when you ask them to write by hand specific characters, it'll be difficult for them. (Social experiment conducted)
@SomethingSomethingSomethi, oh, I'm absolutely fine without having lucid dreams. I can sometimes control my dreams, but by the time I realise I'm dreaming, it falls away, and it usually ends up with me getting sleep paralysis. Although I'm interested in reading your dream journal! When I was plagued by sleep paralysis for a few months back in highschool, I'd remember my dreams every day and write them down. Eventually, they got pretty boring or I'd not be bothered to write them down (like failing exams, that crap).
But it's cool you're pretty proficient in German, Spanish and Portuguese! I probably can't even pass whatever the A1 equivalent is for my language.... it's hard to read and write.
"Another happy landing"
