This is one of the biggest moments I've already had in mind when I was first conceptualizing the story back in 2013. I didn't know how I could pull it off but I feel like it came at the right time. It was supposed to show the extent of what the Higher ups can do to their subjects.

The end of this chapter however, was something I came up with on the spot. But somehow it felt right. The dad was supposed to appear on Act 3, somewhere on chapter 20+. What I'm saying is, this twist caught me off guard as well! And if that shocked me as a writer, I was sure as hell my readers would be too.

@RachaelMole, yeah haha in retrospect though it didn't come out of left field, Lucian's daddy issues has been set up at an earlier chapter and Glory at this point was grilling him on only using her to ascend to the Elite with his dad. I hope you had fun reading through this roller coaster of shocking twists!
