And in the end I was like, WOW! Kinda had a fresh feel to it. Great work. Like others said, this would be nice if put as a story :))

Oh, that's two for this, I was honestly not expecting this reception.

I'm looking forward to finishing up NoNaWriMo, so I'll have more time for this project, but I still don't know if I should make this a later chapter or the first chapter, do some background work surrounding this chapter, or just write what happens after this event.

Imagine if the heroes face the dark lord, dark lord kills them, then slinks away to lick wounds, and new heroes rise from the ashes of the kingdom to finish the job.

@CaitlinJHunter, Yeah, I'll edit that so my thoughts aren't a scattered mess, but you see my three choices...hmm, maybe the answer is to make a fourth choice? Oh, I think I have an idea...I'll just let my thoughts stew a while, see what pops out at me.

Well, I ended it like that on purpose, an ambiguous ending for Earthlings and Martians alike, do they all die, or does the blast that the general anticipates never happen?

Kind of leave it to the reader, as THE end or new beginning, but the thought did cross my mind to tell the story of the aftermath, we'll see where it goes, though!
