Oh, forgot to mention this (the problem with making a post right before work, lol), but the one Karen I ever ended up talking to on a personal level was a perfect example of this.
She lost the only man she ever loved early on, before she even had a chance to tell him her feelings, her mother died shortly after that, when her father died, her siblings fought and backstabbed each other over the inheritance, and now she lives alone in the suburbs with no relatives, family, or even neighbours on good terms with her, so she's just waiting to die.
And that's not even getting into her childhood.
It made me realize that behind a lot of Karens is probably a lifetime of misery and suffering, until all that's left is bitterness towards God and the world, and a desire to hurry up and pass away.
