Firstly, let me say I absolutely loved this.
The way you write is very lyrical, almost poetic and it creates a very beautiful image!!
This short story is extremely mesmerising so very well done!
The only criticism I have (and this is just me being fussy so feel free to totally ignore me since it really is only a tiny criticism) is that you said it was based in England in the 14th century. The title Viscount wasn't introduced in England until the mid-1400's, which would be the 15th century. Admittedly it had been used elsewhere since much earlier, but since you specifically said England, I'd maybe adjust the century slightly.
