I am actually so amazed by this prologue. Your command of prose is just phenomenal, and I know you only joined Penana today, but I can't wait to read the next chapter. (Actually, I can. Take your time because I don't want you to compromise the quality of your writing just because of an impatient reader, haha.) I love the way you used contrasts, and the whole prologue is just amazing, really.

If I'm going to be really nit-picky, then you should capitalize the first letter of a sentence if it's after a colon (ex. …it was this: Just because you love people…), and the capitalization for "hell" was a little inconsistent (aka always capitalize in reference to the place or don't). In any case, I really love the story so far.
