I'm messing with you, I'm actually posting this from my phone now. Cell phones are actually really useful to be honest (in my experience), and I'm not sure if they're a symptom or a cause of 21st century life but they connect everybody all the time and make a lot of things possible.
Texting is just plain convenient; who has time to wait around for a phone call these days? (I still love to call my grandma on the weekends, but if I need to let my date know I'll be five minutes late then it's infinitely easier to just shoot off a text message.) If I'm on the go and need to look up a store's hours before I run an errand or I get lost on the road and need directions then cell phones save huge amounts of time.
Candy crush is silly and phones definitely make sexting possible, but to me both of those things seem more like side effects really, more like cultural phenomenons, when you compare them to the actual miracle of mobile technology.
they do have some value. Mind translating smh and tbqf to a language a 40+ year old woman can understand? and your write, Ithey are useful at times, at other times a nuisance.
@Bobby Coxx, my kids thinks that its fun to talk text to me, just to drive me nuts. I'm trying to learn the acryonyms but I guess you can't teach an old dog new tricks
Jk.

For what it's worth!
